Description: Exhibition piece for Chichester Cathedral
The theme for this exhibition piece was Reconcilliation and Healing. This canvas mural was designed to be suspended in the North Transept of Chichester Cathedral. The Bridges and Crossings design explores the process of reconcilliation and healing that relates to so many individual lives, family and world situations.
There is no doubt that life is complex and that the values of others are not always easily understood. Life is built upon layers of interdependency and, like the game Jenga, the stability of its composition is threatened by the disruption of supporting layers. Reconciliation does not always deliver perfect solutions to troubled or unbalanced situations. A way forward can be sought by a re-ordering of life's layers or a sharing of understanding. My composition is an unterpretation of the moving, changing layers during the process of reconciliation.
