A commission to place public art at the heart of this mixed use retail/office/residential development saw a design concept applied to the principal elevation of this new-build Sainsbury's store; a crescendo of vivid juicy colour stretching across all 500sqm of the glazed facade.

This one hundred metre long glazing line to the west elevation encloses a seven metre tall two-storey travelator atrium and the entire end of the retail floor. A vibrant palette of reds and golds serves to animate the elevation in keeping with the architectural & artistic concept.

In the true spirit of public art, this is a piece for those who might rarely visit an art gallery but who do go shopping. It lives within a much-used functional environment that makes it accessible to all, within and without, and at all hours of the day.
